Sound Check Newcastle Under Lyme

Hollywood Festival Revisited 1970 – 2003

Bank Holiday Monday 26^th May 2003  

Early up this morning to see the sound check. Paul and his son Jake arrived ‘round 8:30 in the Comfort Inn, the hotel we spent the night, together we walked into the centre of Newcastle we’re we met Kevin & Tracy and Derek. The band arrived just a few minuts later.The stage was build up in front of the Guildhall. On stage: Ray Dorset – Mick Frampton – Matt Round – James Davis & Tony Hounsham, sound: Jarvis. After all equipment connect properly the band start with the sound check, parts of Alright, Alright, Alright / Feels Like I’m In Love / Long Legged Woman / Party Land and more.

During the morning some other Mungo Jerry fans we met before arrived, Alan, Michael , Jim and his wife, Jean Jacques, Stuart and a lot more. Derek invited me to come behind the fence to come close to the band to make photo’s. It was great to have the change to make photo’s on stage and from near by, the results you can see on this page. Pretty was the good weather we had. The band left ‘round half past ten and we enjoyed our morning with some coffee and nice chat with all the other Mungo fans. Some time to go for the afternoon gig.
