I left home sunday morning around 8:30, easy
driving through the south of Holland and Germany, arrived
12:30 in St.Goarshausen. When I was waiting in front of the
closed gate I heard the sound-check from Mungo Jerry, because
a trio-gig was planned it was not possible that only a trio
can make this sound. Later I saw behind the fence Tim and
Torsten, that's what I thought. Big surprice because as
written in the tourlist not a Trio-Gig but the full British
band on stage. The gig was life on radio by SWR1 who organised
this Oldie festival. In my upinion the best gig 'til now I
visit this year, everyone has give the best they've got. Again
a very great extended version of "In The Summertime"
The audience was wonderful, clapping, foot tapping and singing
from begin 'til end of the gig and a lot of photo's are made.
Because the stage was far from the tribune I repleaced my
camera lens, the security told me it was not
aloud to change lenses, too late, because I had made already photo's with 135mm
and 270mm .
After the gig Ray planned a signature session, Britta sold a
lot of Cd's , Move On - The Latest & Greatest, because a
lot of interest at the signature session, it became more as a hour.
Problems again with the security to
get backstage (as usual)
even when Ray introduced me as a friend, no way in ! The
charme of a woman is needed here.....Ray's wife talked with
the security and I walked in, thanks Britta, strange enough
now I got from the security a "Acces All Areas"
pass... !?...
Nice chat with all bandmembers and Ray signed again two items
from my collection. The rest of the bandmembers signed the
sign "Dressingroom Mungo Jerry" I'll get from the
dressingroom door. In the dressingroom Mick showed me his know
how of art, see photo whith the banana...... just for fun I made a T-shirt with a picture
from Ray, made in Losheim am See, Ray was amused about the
T-shirt and Torsten made a photo from both of us. I left the
area 'round eight and arrived home at half past midnight, tired
as well....
