We left home just for 6pm and arrived just before 9pm in Düren and searched a while for the location "Badesee" after 20 minuts we found it and parked our car. Backstage passes were arranged by Michael Pohl so there was no problems to get in (this time) through the viproom to the dressing area and we met the bandmembers, Ray was in his hotel for a short sleep, he was phoned around ten and arrived an half hour later. In te meantime onstage Oldies as "Pussycat" (replaced Dave Dee because sickness)  John Kincade and Chris Andrews (all playback) Mungo Jerry Bluesband was the one and only life act for that evening. Germans love all those Oldie Festivals but Ray told me he won't do the Oldie Festivals anymore, he heart is just today it was a Oldie Night. We had a good chat with Ray and the rest of the band before they went onstage. Great audience and the beach was packed full (see photo's) and were full enthusiasm but the crowd went crazy by the new "Party Song" (so Ray did too) just wonderful !! Ofcourse Lady Rose and In The Summertime was a great succes, (nothing was left from the original setlist) but it goes near to midnight and the show ended with "Just Can't Say Goodbye". But that was not enough for the crowd and shout "Zugabe" (anchor) and the band came back for Lady Rose (again) and Nutbush City Limit, again not enough and they came back for the second time for again "In The Summertime" After that it was enough for the band (and the clock) and they went off stage at 12:40am. It took more as an hour to clearup the stage and packed all instruments in the "Easyplay / Mungo Jerry Bluesband Van", Ray put all his stuff into his own car for his journey to UK for a gig the next day. We said goodbye just before two and start our journey back home were we arrived near five. Looking back to a wonderful evening with the Mungo Jerry Bluesband, Thanks guys and till next time.
